Leadership Program for Aspiring Principals PEP’s leadership program for aspiring principals concentrates on teaching participants the skills they need to become school leaders. Current public school assistant principals are eligible to attend the LPAP program. Preference for acceptance into LPAP will be given to applicants who intend to actively pursue positions as principals.
PEP is committed to geographic diversity, ensuring access for all public school administrators. Administrators in high-need districts and Tier 5 schools are encouraged to enroll in PEP programs so State resources are targeted to areas of greatest need.
LPAP comprises twelve days of instruction (four three-day residential meetings) and convenes at the UNC Center for School Leadership Development (CSLD) in Chapel Hill. The nonrefundable $150 registration fee covers program expenses, most meals, and lodging. Participants are responsible for the cost of evening meals and travel to and from Chapel Hill.
