Leadership Program for New Principals

PEP’s Leadership Program for New Principals (LPNP) focuses on helping principals who have fewer than three years on the job, create and sustain a shared leadership vision and positive school culture, and manage buildings and staffs efficiently. Program curriculum is aligned to new North Carolina Standards for School Executives.

PEP is committed to geographic diversity, ensuring access for all public school administrators. Administrators in high-need districts and Tier 5 schools are encouraged to enroll in PEP programs so State resources are targeted to areas of greatest need.

Current public school principals with less than three years experience are eligible to attend the LPNP program.

LPNP comprises eight days of instruction (four 2-day residential sessions) and convenes at the UNC Center for School Leadership Development (CSLD) in Chapel Hill.

The nonrefundable $250 registration fee covers program expenses, most meals, and lodging. Participants  are responsible for the cost of evening meals and travel to and from Chapel Hill.
