Leadership Program for Experienced Principals

To effectively lead and build capacity within their schools, experienced principals must constantly renew their skills, enhance their abilities, and keep abreast of current trends in education. PEP’s Leadership Program for Experienced Principals (LPXP) helps principals who have three or more years on the job, focus on strategies aligned to the new North Carolina Standards for School Executives and become better instructional leaders and resource managers.

PEP is committed to geographic diversity, ensuring access for all public school administrators. Administrators in high-need districts and Tier 5 schools are encouraged to enroll in PEP programs so State resources are targeted to areas of greatest need.

Current public school principals with three or more years experience are eligible to attend the LPXP program.

LPXP comprises eight days of instruction (four 2-day residential sessions) and convenes at the UNC Center for School Leadership Development (CSLD) in Chapel Hill. There is a $250 nonrefundable registration fee to attend LPXP that is due by no later than August 11th, 2008.

If you have questions about logistics or registration, please contact Program Administrative Assistant Allison Cooke.
