Engaging Students through Virtual Learning

This two-day Institute focuses on virtual student learning and the process of adding online courses and academic programs to your school schedule.  The North Carolina Virtual Public School (NCVPS) leadership institute includes getting access to courses not available at your local school, online make up credits, completing courses faster and flexible time management by setting your own schedule.  Learn how students can get courses and programs they want, available anywhere they can access the internet.

The NCVPS continues to grow with over 25,000 students served in its first year.  Assisting schools to integrate e-learning processes and innovations help principals and school districts transform the way they teach and learn.  This institute is designed to help leaders gain a working knowledge of a virtual public school and how to make e-learning successful for their students.  Participants will work with NCVPS leadership teams reviewing registration processes, developing student support plans and examining resources and tools provided by NCVPS to assist with school improvement processes.

Current public high school principals,  middle school principals, curriculum leaders, and superintendents are eligible to attend.

Additional conference topics include:
Reviews of current NC best practices in e-leadership
Exercises demonstrating how Second Life™ can engage learners securely
Access to the NCVPS Leadership Lagoon where NC leaders can collaborate

PEP is committed to geographic diversity, ensuring access for all public school administrators.  Administrators in high-need districts and Tier 5 schools are encouraged to enroll in PEP program so state resources are targeted to areas of greatest need.
