Resource Management Institute 2008

The Resource Management Institute 2008 is open to principals, assistant principals, and central office personnel, and will take place on August 5 & 6,  2008. The Institute will give site-based public school administrators the techniques needed to manage a school's total resources. This two day seminar will look at several areas of school finance that are critical to maximizing resources. The complexity of State, Federal, and Local resources require specific knowledge to meet instructional goals.

Topics will include:
* Overview of the North Carolina public school budget process
* The principals' role in individual school accounting
* The school treasurer's role in school accounting
* How to Maximize resources through financial flexibility
* Working with the Superintendent and Finance Officer for effective, efficient operations
* Individual school accounting
* Effective internal controls for your school
* How to make legal purchasing decisions
* Complying iwth the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
* Mini sessions will allow participants to select sessions of interest

PEP is committed to geographic diversity, ensuring access for all public school administrators. Administrators in high-need districts and Tier 5 schools are encouraged to enroll in PEP programs so State resources are targeted to areas of greatest need.
