SAIL helps public school principals build instructional leadership capacity.  Participants learn to use reflective practice and the Classroom Walkthrough method developed by Teachscape to increase focus on student achievement and improve teaching and learning.

Public school assistant principals are eligible to attend SAIL if their current principals are SAIL graduates or are currently enrolled in a SAIL program.

PEP is committed to geographic diversity, ensuring access for all public school administrators. Administrators in high-need districts and Tier 5 schools are encouraged to enroll in PEP programs so State resources are targeted to areas of greatest need.

SAIL comprises two, two-day meetings at the UNC Center for School Leadership Development in Chapel Hill.  The nonrefundable, $250 registration fee covers program expenses. Participants are responsible for the cost for travel and lodging.
