Technical Requirements

During SAIL’s second session participants will (1) receive a Palm handheld computer that has wireless capability (at the end of the program the Palms become the property of the participants’ schools), (2) access a classroom walkthrough website that has been created by Teachscape and (3) enter data directly via the website.

When participants return to their schools the classroom walkthrough software may be wirelessly installed on the Palm via Java, after which data from completed walkthroughs may be  uploaded to the school’s website.

SAIL participants who do not currently use a Palm or do not have wireless connectivity in their schools should speak with their district technology directors prior to attending SAIL. Program Director Deborah Pedersen can be contacted if there are any questions.
